You can enter as either a youth or adult competitor in the Traditional or Loaded categories. Our panel of judges will choose the winners and the audience will vote for a People’s Choice winner. Registration forms can be mailed\, emailed or dropped off in the drop box next to the museum office door on Main Street in Wyalusing. There is no registration fee to enter the competition. \nDo you love eating mac and cheese? Taste the competitors creations Sat. Feb. 24\, 2024 from 12 -3 at the Villa Sena\, 143 Villa Sena Drive\, Towanda\, PA. Tickets to attend the event as a taster are $10 individual\, $25 family. Tasters get the chance to vote for the People’s Choice winner in both the adult and youth age groups. \nJudging will begin around 12:30 and winners will be announced around 2:30. \nProceeds benefit the museum’s Move to Main St. Campaign. Enjoy a night of big band jazz at the Tuscarora Wayne Room in the Wyalusing Community Corp. building at 20 Main Street. Whether you want to sit and listen to the music or get up and dance\, there’s room for everyone. \n The entrance to the Tuscarora Wayne Room is on the side of the building with the Wyalusing post card mural\, facing the parking lot. \nAdmission will be a donation at the door\, suggested donation $5/person. Need to pay less? That’s OK! Able to pay more? All proceeds go to support the renovations to 25 Main Street\, the future home of the Wyalusing Valley Museum. You can see our recent facade renovation across the street from the event venue. \nThere will be a casual beginners swing dance lesson from 7:00-7:30 before the main event. Join us Thursday July 28 at 7:00 for a beginner’s swing dance lesson\, followed by an evening of danceable tunes from the Wyalusing Community Jazz Band. This event is a fundraiser for the Wyalusing Valley Museum\, so admission is a donation at the door – pay what you choose. The dance will be held at the Tuscarora Wayne Community Room in the Wyalusing Community Corp. building at 20 Main Street\, Wyalusing\, PA. Please enter the TW Room from the parking-lot side of the building. \nDon’t want to dance? Music fans who want to treat this as a concert are welcome too! \nWhat to wear? Whatever is comfortable. Feel free to dress up or be casual.  If you are planning to dance\, make sure you wear comfortable shoes that will definitely stay on your feet even when walking backwards – flip flops are hard to dance in! \nWhat does “donation at the door” mean? That means your admission is whatever amount you want to donate to the Wyalusing Valley Museum. We’d suggest that $5 per person is a good baseline\, but if you can give more\, make it $10\, $15\, $20 a person or more! All proceeds go to support the Wyalusing Valley Museum. \nWhere do I park? There is parking on the street\, and there is a small parking lot next to the Wyalusing Community Corp Building. Please do not block the alley that goes behind the WCC building. There is also a larger public parking lot about one and a half blocks away at the corner of Marsh and First Street\, behind the Presbyterian Church. \nSchedule:\n\n7:00-7:30 beginner swing dance lesson with Brian and Morgan Clinton\n7:30-9:30 Wyalusing Community Jazz Band with dj’d dance music during the band breaks\n\nWe will probably throw in at least one more lesson with some additional moves during one of the band breaks. \n

Taking orders until 5:00 on June 25\, pretzel pick-up day will be Tuesday June 28 from 4:00-7:00. \n$1.50 each or 10 for $12 \nYou can freeze them! \nThese are fresh baked goods that do not contain preservatives\, so if you don’t plan to eat them within a day\, we suggest freezing them. \nFreezing tips: Separate your pretzels and wrap individually in the freezer wrap of your choice (waxed paper\, plastic wrap\, foil). Place the wrapped pretzels in a gallon freezer bag and remove as much air as possible to provide extra protection from freezer burn. When you are ready to eat one\, let it thaw on the counter and then pop it in the toaster oven or microwave to warm it up. Come celebrate with the Wyalusing Valley Museum at St. Agnes’ JFK Hall in Towanda this NYE! The party starts at 6:00 p.m. with some hors d’oevres from the era provided by Villa Sena to a backdrop of Jazz Age music.  A buffet dinner will be catered by the Wyalusing Hotel with a champagne toast at midnight (and some spiked cocktails in between\, shhhh!).  There will be lots of dancing as DJs from Raymond Phillips Sight and Sound play your favorite tunes from more recent years.  All for $75 a person! Did we mention shuttle services will be provided to local hotels to and from the event? DESCRIPTION:The 1920s was the era of jazz\, art deco\, and prohibition. Women’s clothing went down a particularly interesting avenue\, influenced by the new motion picture industry\, the discovery of King Tut’s tomb and the women’s suffrage movement. Curator Morgan Clinton will be giving a talk about the clothing and accessories popular in the 1920s.
